Speech & Language Therapy
Some parents choose to access just independent therapy whilst others like to use it to supplement NHS therapy. I am always happy to liaise with NHS therapists to ensure a consistent therapy approach for your child.
As an independent speech and language therapist I am able to offer you the benefits that accessing independent therapy brings:
- Short or no waiting list for assessment
- Regular therapy which starts promptly after assessment
- 1:1 appointments tailored to your child’s needs
- Active involvement of parents in the therapy decision making process and therapy activities
- Time to discuss your concerns, answer your queries and ensure that you feel confident to fully support your child
- Appointments in a setting where your child feels comfortable(home/school/pre-school) and therefore performs to the best of their ability
- Tailored homework activities plus the opportunity to contact me between sessions should you have any queries about implementing homework
I work with children aged approximately 2 years to 10 years with a variety of speech, language and communication difficulties including:
- Speech sound difficulties (unclear speech):
- phonology / phonological delays and disorders
- articulation difficulties
- Childhood apraxia of speech
- Language delays and disorders
I have a special interest in early intervention and preventative intervention. The following link takes you to an article I have had published regarding my work in this field http://www.speechmag.com/content/files/SALTiPSpr08NBrooke.pdf |
